CayaqPuma

So it has been a while since I blogged.  This is because our computer went out and we had to send it into Lima for some warrantied repairs.  We were two months shy of the end of our three month warranty.  Thank goodness because they had to replace the motherboard and power supply. Our $150.00 warranty saved us about $1500.00.
Our Mac with the face detached.

Kerry, some friends and I went on a great trip to CayaqPuma again.  Kerry and I went to it last year and I believe blogged on it a while ago.   A friend of our who did a documentary on the cave paintings came with us this time and showed us some special places on the mountain.

Callacpuma 1.5

Today, while waiting for the plumber, I decided to take a walk up a road that Kerry and I have walked a couple of time but not that far.  The road basically climbs a mountain, the same mountain where callacpuma is only it is the other side of the mountain.  It was a nice walk and some locals actually stopped me to talk to me and ask me where I was from and if I enjoyed walking and some other things I couldn't understand...  Here are the picts...

First, this is the full moon on my way to work.

I was very surprised to see this sign as the path to it on the other side of the mountain is much smaller and less obvious.

This is the path, there are also a lot of crosses on the side of the mountain.  Not sure if it is really that dangerous but it looks like we could walk to the top of the mountain and maybe come down the other side on the other road.

This is a little town square it is called El Inca.  Kind of like Baños del Inca only a little shorter.

Here is a panoramic picture of this street and just how much in the foothills this road is and I am where I live in Baños.

One life and two blogs....

Kerry is doing an awesome job of writing the blogs and sharing our daily life.  The problem is that my daily life revolves around school and hers around her free time and the things that we do together.  Unless something really crazy happens on my way to work, I really have nothing too much to add to the blog that Kerry has written.  This is the excuse that I am using for not writing too much on my blog.   So I will continue with sharing mostly pictures and some information.....

As she said in her other post, we live a pretty boring weekly life and then on the weekends things spice up a bit because we try to go explore the area.  Yesterday we had a holiday and so we decided to go to a place called Granja Porcòn, which is Porcòn farm coop/town and zoo.  Well this proved to be too much work for us and we decided to go on an extended walk to a town called Llancora.

Llcancora seemed like it was going to be about an hour walk from the house but would take us by some beautiful scenery.  So we didn't make it to Llancora but we made it to this Pinturas Rupestres Callacpuma, Kerry did a bunch of research on it but basically we climbed up half of a mountain and got some tremendous views and saw some ancient drawings in some caves.  It was truly an awesome find for our trip.  We would have continued on to Llancora but as always, we had to come home to meet the plumber who didn't show but who is supposed to show up today which is why we will again be limited in what we can do today.

The plan today is to have breakfast with the family that took Kerry on the picnic.  But we will have to be home by noon for the plumber and 2:00 for the gardener.  But it is only Saturday.  Tomorrow we have a my school librarian coming over for breakfast with her kids.  As you can see Kerry is on her way to creating our local social network.  : )  Her are some pictures of the walk yesterday.

This type of structure is very common...  Looks like it is just about ready to live in...
