Llacanora

Took a hike a few weeks ago with my friend Mike to Llacanora.  There are waterfalls behind the city to hike to.  It is a popular place for the locals to have picnics on the weekends.  Llacanora has two waterfalls that Kerry and I have seen a couple of times.  We heard that there was another one higher up so this trip was to find that water fall.  We never found it, but the following week a student who lives there told us that that waterfall is a myth.  It doesn't exist....  Ahhh....

This is where I would have expected the third waterfall to be.

View from the top.

We think this is to climb across when the water is high...  Not sure I would do that though.

Llacanora Plaza de Armas..  A very cute little square...

Going Away Party

We had a going away party for our friends who are leaving next week.  Here are some of the pictures.

Two New Packer Fans!!

Don't let the confused looks fool you, they are really excited about their new team!!

The Packers, Snyders Pretzels, Jays, Inca Cola and something else that I can't pronounce that look very similar to potato chips.  What could be better?  It was an old game but, they don't need to know that.  : ) They totally helped me with my spanish, because we are on the same level.

Videos

This was the Torch Parade at Davy College

The lights in the torches are actual candles, what a great night.

This is a parade that was right outside our house for Saint Mary of the Nativity Kerry referenced it in her blog.

The Street Band
The final video for the day is one of a Street Band that we saw on our way back to the house.  They were set up in the middle of the street and well......

Awesome hike!

So the picture above doesn´t quite show the elevation that I hiked, these pictures should.  This is a normal Saturday morning in the hills around Baños del Inca.  The hike I took ended up being about the same distance I normally walk about 4 miles but took me a little longer as I ascended to over 10,000 feet!

It was really nice seeing the every day life of the people in the hills and also to see the views that they have!
