Lima

I realized I never posted any pictures from our trip to Lima.

Kerry and I had the opportunity to go to Lima because I am trying to get my residency card.  So I had to go and meet with a lawyer and she walked us through the steps of getting the card.  I actually went to INTERPOL which sounds so James Bond.  So we were fortunate enough to be able to spend the weekend there and here are some of the pictures.

Today I am going on a school trip to another school that my kids have a relationship with that is a working school.  What this means is that the kids work on a farm and also go to this school hat owns the farm...  I'm bringing my camera...

Here we are a restaurant right on the sea.  Very much like Harbor House for real.  (Trying out a new collage program)

We stayed in the San Isidro which is a pretty posh area.  Chivas is the main scotch in the area..

This is a pretty cool building in the Plaza de Arms.

The changing of the guard "show" was very "stripesesque".

Lima from the sea.

The other side of Lima by the sea.

The seafood was fresh.

Outside of the Nautica Rose.

This is a cliff where people parasail.  Basically they run and jump off the side of the hill with parasails.

Two New Packer Fans!!

Don't let the confused looks fool you, they are really excited about their new team!!

The Packers, Snyders Pretzels, Jays, Inca Cola and something else that I can't pronounce that look very similar to potato chips.  What could be better?  It was an old game but, they don't need to know that.  : ) They totally helped me with my spanish, because we are on the same level.

Videos

This was the Torch Parade at Davy College

The lights in the torches are actual candles, what a great night.

This is a parade that was right outside our house for Saint Mary of the Nativity Kerry referenced it in her blog.

The Street Band
The final video for the day is one of a Street Band that we saw on our way back to the house.  They were set up in the middle of the street and well......

Awesome hike!

So the picture above doesn´t quite show the elevation that I hiked, these pictures should.  This is a normal Saturday morning in the hills around Baños del Inca.  The hike I took ended up being about the same distance I normally walk about 4 miles but took me a little longer as I ascended to over 10,000 feet!

It was really nice seeing the every day life of the people in the hills and also to see the views that they have!

Español y un Camino!

I am going on a hike today, this one .......

It should be about a 4 mile hike round trip.  Not sure what I am going to find in the little town I am hiking to but, that's why I am here.

Before setting off I decided to call a hotel to set up a reservation for our October vacation.  Total success!  All in Español, I understood almost all of the conversation and so did the person with whom I spoke.  My español is coming along nicely as I wouldn't have been able to pull that off a few months ago.

Correction::::  I just received the confirmation for the wrong dates....  :::::  Almost success I am emailing to correct the dates.....  ::::

I will have some pictures of the hike in a couple of hours!!  Adios mis amigos!
