FGA!

A week of Fun, Goodbyes, .....

This last week has been a bunch of fun starting with our friends the Clums, followed by the Geiger-Putras and ending with the Schmitt/Ernst contingent!  We only have a picture of the Clums to share at this moment.

I also have a picture of Kerry and me on the pier!

Things seem to be moving right along in Cajamarca as I just received word from my new superintendent that our new house is getting furnished tomorrow.  There is also a schedule for our transition over the course of next week.  It is hard to believe that next week at this time we will be in the airport boarding our plane to begin our new life of international travel and education.

 and Anxiety!

We are feeling a bit nervous about our belongings getting through customs in Lima.  Not that we have anything we shouldn't have, just that we hope that the process isn't long and complicated.  Doing it all in Spanish will be the real complication.  So in a perfect world, Delta will take all of our boxes and check them as extra baggage and charge us $200.00 a piece.  The boxes will show up in Lima when we get there and we will put them on some carts, press the magic customs button and get a green light which will allow us into the main Lima airport.  We will then get picked up by our driver who will take us to Cargo City where we will check our stuff on to Cajamarca.

The way it will probably happen is that we will get stopped in Lima at customs and have to go through some confusing process because of the value of our items and pay a duty.  Which will be fine as long as it doesn't take too long and in the end we end up with all of our stuff.  Who knows...  This will be the beginning of the adventure!

Today, Joel comes up and Kerry's family near the end of the week.  Maybe some golf on Wednesday......  Fore!!!!!
